General Discussion / How to activate unlocked phone on any carrier
« on: October 20, 2015, 02:19:59 PM »
Hey everyone,
I'm on Sprint, and I recently purchased an unlocked Nexus 6. Here's how to activate it on any carrier.

1. Make sure the device has the right antennas for your carrier. This part should go without saying.

2. Take the device into a corporate store, and have the manager add the device to the database. You'll need the ESN/IMEI and the device model number to do this. Basically, this process makes it to where the phone can be properly provisioned.

3. Get a sim card from your carrier. On Verizon and Sprint, the sim handles the LTE data.

4. Boot it up, and go through the automated activation process.

This process was surprisingly easy, and my Nexus 6 has been running like a champ so far. Feel free to ask me any questions about it!

Unlocked Nexus 6 is active on Sprint and working just fine. I'll make a new thread on how to activate an unlocked device on CDMA for anyone who's interested

Apologies if someone already posted this...

64gb Nexus 6 has 55gb of usable storage out of the box.

Wow this place this great. you guys have all the info anyone needs on the best devices. So much information its hard to keep up once you miss a day. A couple of questions for you guys if you don't mind. I just got a gear s and was wondering what are must have apps also I have been thinking about buying a note edge or note 4 from tmo. which would be the better choice or are they the same just different screen.
Welcome over man...iunlock just got an edge so he will post some info I'm sure...but yea they're pretty much identical but for the edge bit...fk for both devices but no pr for edge...

For gear s...I download opera browser, timer, here navigation, milk music, and a calendar

Thanks Mega you guys have help me keep my note 3 running like champ. :) I will keep an eye for iunlock info on the edge. I don't mind staying on kk it has been good to me, well after you worked you magic on it. is there a way to control Pandora on gear s like milk music?
Pandora idk, but after you get used to Milk I do like it a lot better. Milk timer weather and a Watch styler are the must have apps in my humble opinion. For your device I'd recommend Note 4 over edge, purely for the edge having its power button on the top of the device.

Thanks for the info on milk Steele, i didnt know about those features will give milk try for while. I didnt know about the power button placement on the edge. that may have me leaning to the 4. thanks again man
No problem man. Most carriers still have the Edge in store if you want to see one. Note 4 will feel like your 3, just with metal edges.

Gl to your Mets, I don't follow baseball... So... Go Mets! Lol
