Here's one of the deciding factors for me to make the move:

http://www.lg.com/us/mobile-phones/v10/promo
That and it's the only device with any innovation or novelty...plus the standard sd battery kit that is just a no brainer...Def interested in it since I saw it...hoping for root and twrp/secure boot unlock

Yes. You can turn it off when the main screen is on, off or both.

So I decided to turn the secondary screen off while the main is off. The proximity sensor turns it off when it's in your pocket (or face down) so it makes me wonder how much the battery life if affected with constantly removing and inserting it back into my pocket. In my case, I find the secondary screen more useful when the screen is on. Now if LG could update the software with a timer so that the secondary screen turns completely off until you tap it. I think that would be more ideal.

That makes sense to me...hows your battery life been on it?

First day I was getting pretty close to what I was getting with the Note 4 although I still had 30% battery to go with nearly 3 hrs of SOT and somewhere between 21-23 hours of use. Yesterday for some reason the battery took a much quicker dive and I'm thinking it was the constant removal and placement into my pocket. I turned the secondary display off last night while the main is on so I'll see how I fair today.
I took about 20 photos and was quite impressed with the low light handling; I think it did better in this department than the Note 4.
